In a surprising move, Niece Motorsports has released Kaden Honeycutt from the team, effective immediately. Honeycutt is sitting sixth in the NASCAR Truck Series championship standings, 73 points above the cut-line in the battle to make the playoffs.

The team already revealed Bayley Currey as the driver of its No. 41 machine and Matt Mills as the driver of its No. 42 entry.

The organization, called Faction46, is owned by Lane Moore and will have an alliance with Niece Motorsports. Veteran crew chief Doug George will lead the team from atop the pit box.

Currey has competed part-time in the NASCAR Truck Series since 2017, starting a total of 43 races. 2023 has been his best year yet, scoring three top-fives and four top-tens in ten starts with Niece Motorsports. His best showing came at Atlanta earlier this year, finishing fourth.

Corey Heim may have been the only driver entering this race already locked into the Championship 4, but that doesn't mean he wasn't going for it. He looked to have the fastest truck in the field but after  winning both Stage 1 and Stage 2, he fell back.

Mills replaces the outgoing Carson Hocevar, who will move to the Cup Series with Spire Motorsports next year. Hocevar has won three races so far this year and remains in contention for the title.

The 20-year-old native of Portage, Mich., will make just his second career Cup start in Sunday night’s Southern 500 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.

The three-time Supercars champ is making his NASCAR oval debut in Friday's Truck Series playoff-opener at IRP, driving the No. 41 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado.
