Chastain, 30, will make his fourth Xfinity start of the 2023 season this weekend. Although the previous three came with DGM Racing, that will not be the case at Michigan.

Chastain, who had lamented in an interview Friday that he needed to “wreck less and win more,” won the pole for Sunday’s race and ended a more than year-long winless streak with his first victory of the 2023 season.

Finishing 19th in a Late Model race may not sound like fun, but his participation was part of the lead-in events to this weekend’s All-Star Weekend and the reopening of the iconic North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway.

While this week it was William Byron who came away with an unexpected NASCAR Cup victory, it was once again Chastain that dominated the conversation after the race, whether for better or worse.
