More than 650 pilgrims were turned back on their journey to Badrinath due to missing the mandatory registration, according to officials. This move comes as part of the authorities' efforts to manage the flow of pilgrims to the Char Dham and prevent the chaos witnessed earlier in the yatra season.

In response to the surging number of tourists, the Uttarakhand government has implemented a ban on mobile phone usage within a 200-metre radius of the Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri temples. This measure was decided during a special meeting on the Chardham pilgrimage, chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
