A court in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri has summoned Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair in a case registered on the charge of promoting enmity

The Uttar Pradesh police have issued a warrant for Alt News cofounder Mohammed Zubair, hours after the Supreme Court granted him interim bail in another case registered in UP’s Sitapur. Zubair is accused of promoting enmity between two religious groups through a tweet he made last year.

Mohammed Zubair got interim bail from the Supreme Court on Friday, but the Alt News cofounder will stay in custody. In a separate case, the court provided Zee News anchor Rohit Ranjan protection from coercive police action.

The interim bail to Zubair was granted for 5 days on the condition that he will not post any fresh tweets on the issue related to the case and not leave the jurisdiction of the Sitapur Magistrate's court. Read more on Dynamite News

The Alt News co-founder however, is in judicial custody on orders of a Delhi court in a separate case
