On Friday, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) called upon three of the country’s leading food delivery platforms: Alibaba Group’s (NYSE:BABA) Ele.me, Meituan (OTC:MPNGY), and JD.com (NASDAQ:JD). The regulator urged these companies to adopt more “rational” competitive practices amidst an escalating price war within the sector.

U.S.-listed Chinese stocks, including tech giants Alibaba Group Holding (NYSE:BABA), PDD Holdings (NASDAQ:PDD), JD.com (NASDAQ:JD), and Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU), experienced significant gains on Tuesday.

Alibaba stock is down over 27% from its 2025 highs. The stock, however, looks like a good buy given its valuation and can outperform markets over the medium term.
