Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation reflects NDA govt's commitment to students: Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru: Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation as Union Education Minister reflects the NDA government's unwavering commitment to the aspirations of students and its resolve to ensure that every genuine concern receives due attention, JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy said on Sunday.

Assuring that the government is taking every necessary step to strengthen the examination system, the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel also urged the students to remain focused on their studies and pursue their dreams with confidence.

Pradhan resigned from his post on Saturday over the alleged NEET paper leak row that triggered nationwide protests, saying it is not a matter of "individual prestige" for him.

The protesters main demand was that Pradhan should step down or he be removed from the post.

"Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the voice of India's youth has always been heard with sincerity and respect," Kumaraswamy posted on 'X'.

"The decision of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to step down reflects our government's unwavering commitment to the aspirations of students and its resolve to ensure that every genuine concern receives due attention," he said.

Kumaraswamy further said that the Government of India is taking every necessary step to strengthen the examination system, address issues surrounding NEET, and introduce reforms that uphold fairness, transparency and merit.

"I urge our students to remain focused on their studies and pursue their dreams with confidence. A strong and empowered young generation is the foundation of a Viksit Bharat," he added.
