It's been nearly half a century since a woman last competed in an F1 race, and Wolff wants to ensure that number doesn't tick much higher.

Since its debut season in 2023, F1 Academy has provided a well-deserved spotlight to numerous gifted female drivers, including 2024 champion Abbi Pulling and race winners Chloe Chambers, Maya Weug, and Bianca Bustamante.

Bumper fields from GTWS, GT4WS and FWS made the most of the valuable hours of track time, each completing multiple sessions over Thursday and Friday in preparation for an action-packed weekend of racing on the 4.005km circuit.

Following the success of F1 Academy in 2023, the series will return for a 21-race campaign across seven weekends this year. The all-female championship is directed by former Williams test driver Susie Wolff, who aims to help young women progress towards the higher levels of motorsport. 

Bustamante will sport a McLaren livery in F1's female-only feeder series on a car run by French powerhouse ART Grand Prix, while also being added to its driver development programme.
