Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden has shared a new health update from hospital, just months after being declared cancer-free.
The 34-year-old professional dancer was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023 and underwent chemotherapy and a mastectomy.
She received the all-clear in February 2024, describing herself as “feeling stronger than ever.”
In a post to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, Amy gave fans a glimpse of her latest check-up.
Wearing a hospital gown, she snapped a mirror selfie while holding up crossed fingers, writing: “Scan 1 done, now my MRI,” alongside nine fingers-crossed emojis.
The Welsh dancer has continued to raise awareness about breast cancer through her platform, where she has more than 700,000 followers.

Over the weekend, she revealed she had helped raise £53,000 for charities CoppaFeel! and Breast Cancer Now through a campaign run in late 2024.
Beaming in the sunshine and holding charity T-shirts, Amy thanked her supporters in the caption: “THANK YOU, from the tickled pink campaign last Sept/Oct we raised an INCREDIBLE 53k TOWARDS @coppafeel and @breastcancernow.
“Thank you so much to everyone who bought a t-shirt and supported the campaign and of course to @asda @georgeatasda. #thankyou.”
Amy made her return to Strictly last September, partnering with JLS singer JB Gill, but had to bow out in week six after suffering a foot injury.
Reflecting on her comeback, she admitted she’d felt under pressure and hadn’t fully processed her experience with cancer.
“Last year it was a lot of emotions,” she told The Mirror. “Excitement, but I think also pressure that I had put on myself. I wasn’t confident in myself really deep down, I think I was still trying to accept everything.
“I didn’t look the same, with my hair growing back, you could see a difference in me.”
After much speculation about whether she’d return for the next series, the BBC confirmed in April that Amy will be back on the dancefloor for Strictly 2025.
Posting about the news, she said she felt “grateful” for the opportunity.
