Jose Cifuentes has hinted he wants to turn his loan move into a permanent one after Greek side Aris made an approach to Rangers to lower their £2.2 million price tag.
The Ecuadorian player joined Aris on loan at the start of the season after making just six league starts for Rangers previously. He was also sent on an unsuccessful loan to Brazilian club Cruzeiro.
Aris have been impressed with the 26-year-old, who has been a key man in their quest to gain European qualification for next season after 28 appearances for the Thessaloniki club.
Rangers included a clause for Aris to sign Cifuentes for £2.2 million, but that is out of the financial reach of the club.

Reports in Greece have indicated that they this week approached Rangers in a bid to get them to lower their asking price so they could sign the 21-times capped international.
And Cifuentes admitted he is enjoying his football.
He said: "I don't want to talk about my own individual performances, I think our excellent form in the play-offs has been down to the whole team.
"We all work together for the same goal and we all improve together. There has also been individual improvement from me, but this is the result of teamwork, under the guidance of the manager.
"But I am happy here and believe I have improved as the season has progressed."
Cifuentes was signed by Rangers two years ago from Los Angeles FC in a £1.2 million deal and he still has two years left on his contract.
