NotebookLM has announced that the recently launched Video Overviews feature is now available in all 80 supported languages. The rollout, starting this week, will give you easier access to summarised content without language barriers. Along with Video Overviews, non-English audio overviews are also getting new Short and Default length controls, allowing you to access more detailed summaries in their preferred language.
The company framed the update with a simple message: “Great ideas shouldn’t get lost in translation.”
This is not the only update in recent times. A couple of weeks ago, NotebookLM rolled out a mobile update focused on customisation and speed for its Audio Overviews feature. It now allows you to choose a preferred language for summaries, set the desired length of audio, and add guiding prompts to shape responses. Besides, the NotebookLM team also claimed that Audio Overviews now load up to 95% faster, which helps reduce buffering and makes listening on mobile smoother.
However, we are going to see a lot of updates from NotebookLM this week. Simon, the lead for NotebookLM, hinted at upcoming features with the teaser: “Buckle up! Going to be quite the week!”
If we go by the early signals, NotebookLM may soon introduce a single-voice option for Audio Overviews, similar to the one already used in Video Overviews. Another potential feature on the horizon is resume playback, which would allow you to continue listening or watching from where you left off if you close the app.
