Kate Ferdinand announces she's pregnant with her and husband Rio's second child in sweet reveal video after heartache

Kate Ferdinand has announced the wonderful news that she is pregnant. The former reality star revealed that she and husband Rio Ferdinand will be welcoming their second child together into the world later this year.

Kate, who previously starred in The Only Way Is Essex on ITV2 before it moved to ITVBe, took to her Instagram to confirm the happy news on Sunday morning (January 29). The 31-year-old, who married former footballer Rio in 2019, could be seen in a black and white video walking away from the camera.

The clip, set to Minnie Riperton's Lovin' You, then showed Kate turn around as she beamed for the camera before lovingly placing her hand on her blossoming baby bump as she sported a figure-hugging dress and long-line coat.

Kate, who is stepmother to husband Rio's children Tate, 13, Lorenz, 15, and Tia, 11, captioned the heartwarming post: "We’ve been praying for you…" before quickly being flooded with congratulatory messages.

Former TOWIE star Georgia Kousoulou said: "Awww so so happy for you." Ex-Geordie Shore star and Queen of the Jungle Vicky Pattison replied: "Omg babe! Congratulations." Mrs Hinch, who has been forced to deny pregnancy rumours this week, said: "Congratulations how amazing."

Actress Tamzin Outhwaite replied: "Wonderful news." Pregnant former Love Island contestant Montanna Brown posted: "Stop this is amazing! Congratulations." Socialite Lizzie Cundy added: "Huge congratulations!!! Amazing news! Excited."

Kate and Rio already share a young son Cree, two, together while Rio is also a dad to his three children whom he shared with his late wife, Rebecca Elison. Rio posted Kate's post to his Instagram Story and simply added a '5' emoji to signify his growing brood as well as his former Manchester United shirt number.

It comes after Kate revealed in July last year that she and Rio had suffered a miscarriage. Posting to the social media platform on July 27, Kate shared a black and white snap of herself with her feet up on a hospital bed as she donned a medical gown. She explained to her 1.4million followers how she was admitted to hospital after a routine scan failed to detect her baby's heartbeat.

She wrote: "The last time I was in this hospital I was having Cree, but this time it was because out baby had no heartbeat in our 12 week scan and I had to have surgery. We were so excited & planning a space for our new baby in our family, we just couldn't wait to see our news with you all, but unfortunately sometimes life just doesn't go as we plan."

She heartbreakingly added: "So much to say, but somehow I can't find the words. Absolutely devastated & heartbroken ...but couldn't be more grateful for the hugs I got from my big(er) babies coming through the door when we arrived home."
