We're now a few months into 2026, so as you may already have heard, it's Ducati's 100th birthday this year. To celebrate, Italy's Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy are celebrating the Borgo Panigale brand with its very own, very special postage stamp.
It's part of the new "Excellence of the Production System and Made in Italy" series of stamps, which undoubtedly rolls off the tongue in an incredibly satisfying way if you say it in Italian. The goal of the series is apparently to honor companies "that have made a significant contribution to the Country's development and innovation." Indeed!
While it's not the only motorcycle manufacturer to have started out making one thing (radios, in Ducati's case) before eventually finding its two-wheeled destiny, it's still quite a special thing, nevertheless.
Although, to be fair, this is actually Ducati's second-ever Italian postage stamp. The first came in 2022, and honored the brand for its most recent and resounding MotoGP Constructor's Championship victory. And if we're purely discussing commemorative Italian pieces of Ducati-related memorabilia, in 2023, the Republic of Italy put out some really sweet commemorative coins showing off the Ducati 60, 916, and the Panigale.

On the other hand, if we're talking about 100th anniversaries of Italian motorcycle manufacturers, Ducati now joins ranks with Moto Guzzi, as the latter brand was honored with its own centenary Italian postage stamp five years ago, back in 2021. Which leads me to ask just one question: Has there really ever been a decade like the 2020s for the Venn diagram overlapping segment of motorcycle enthusiasts and philatelists? It sure doesn't seem like it.
If you're interested in getting your hands on the Ducati 100th Anniversary commemorative postage stamps, you can visit the official Poste Italiane online store here. Various configurations are available, including a special A4 philatelic folder (you don't want to know how difficult it was to not spell the word "pholder" by accident). Truly a cool piece of memorabilia for any Ducati fan!
What's your favorite motorcycle-related postage stamp? It doesn't have to be Italian; it can come from anywhere, because artwork on postage stamps is often very cool. Feel free to share in the comments!
