This was another strong year for Brendon Hartley. He was up there among the fastest of the Toyota drivers – it was nip and tuck between him and Kamui Kobayashi for that honour in the WEC – in a year when he became a four-time world title winner.

Toyota WEC junior Ritomo Miyata launched his career globally by winning both the Super Formula and Super GT titles in an accomplished campaign, becoming by far the youngest of the five drivers to have achieved the feat, at the age of 24. 

There were times when Fuoco’s pace aboard Ferrari’s 499P Le Mans Hypercar was nothing short of astounding in the WEC.

Nurburgring 24 Hours winner David Pittard, GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup champion Mattia Drudi and Henrique Chaves, a class winner at the Le Mans 24 Hours, have been added to the Aston Martin Racing roster for 2024. 

The news follows last week’s announcement that he has left Porsche’s stable, having previously been nominated as a ‘Selected Driver’ by its Asia Pacific motorsport arm.

Following the end of its successful factory-supported GT programme, Audi stalwarts Mies and Vervisch will join previously-announced quartet Mike Rockenfeller, Harry Tincknell, Joey Hand and Dirk Muller on the Blue Oval's Multimatic-run assault on the IMSA Sportcar Championship's GTD Pro class.

Last month's Bahrain 8 Hours marked the final competitive outing for GTE machinery following the decision by FIA and ACO to drop the corresponding class from WEC and the European Le Mans Series next year.
