In what is being described as one of the worst aviation disasters in recent memory, a London-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on Thursday, killing at least 260 on board and in the area impacted by the crash.

“30 seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. When I got up, there were bodies all around me."

Ramesh Vishwashkumar, 48, the lone survivor from seat 11A, recalled, "When I got up, there were a lot of bodies around me… I got up and ran."

One of those believed to have died was running a spiritual wellness centre and appeared on ITV’s This Morning earlier this year.

The family of Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the Air India crash, has said it was a “miracle” that he survived the doomed flight which saw the other 241 passengers onboard perish.
