Gilliland, 24, has led a career-high 101 laps and has shown up near the front in many races this season.

The team currently operates two full-time Cup teams with Michael McDowell and Todd Gilliland, while McDowell is set to leave the team for Spire Motorsports at the end of the year.

LaJoie, who drives the No. 7 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports, was entering the tri-oval as the eighth car back in the outside line.

McDowell, whose first career pole came earlier this season at Atlanta Motor Speedway, was fastest in both rounds on Saturday, winning the pole with an average lap speed of 182.022 mph over fellow Ford driver Austin Cindric (181.739 mph).

Larson, who was fastest in Saturday’s practice, went out early in the final round of Saturday’s qualifying and paced the session with an average lap speed of 120.332 mph.

Suarez, who had recovered from a multi-car accident on lap 2, lost the lead on a restart with five of 260 laps remaining, but was able to power to the outside lane on the last lap as Kyle Busch and Ryan Blaney raced side-by-side.
