According to U.S. officials, the Hysa Organized Crime Group (HOCG) used its influence through investments and control of Mexican businesses to conceal profits from drug trafficking.

After the arrests and extraditions of several key figures in the world of Mexican organized crime, many are negotiating with the American government for lighter sentences.

For the third time since his trial began, the hearing for Joaquín Guzmán López, son of drug lord Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, has been postponed.
