Blaney, who remains the only Team Penske driver still in the playoffs, showed he and a No. 12 Ford particularly strong on long runs in Sunday’s race.

Newgarden co-drove in the 10-hour sportscar classic, which ended the 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship on Saturday, with Felipe Nasr and Matt Campbell in a Porsche Penske Motorsport 963. The field of 16 will be cut down to 12 in Saturday night's 500 lap race at the half-mile short track.

The speedy Swede, who is joining Meyer Shank Racing in 2024, drove “a gorilla lap” flyer of 1m06.6416s lap on the 11-turn, 2.238-mile natural terrain road course.
