SCR cancels 144 trains due to Cyclone Michaung: Trains running in various routes, incl. TN, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Howrah, Lucknow, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Puducherry, etc. cancelled Dec 3-7 as safety measure.

SCR and NDRF personnel conduct mock safety drill

The South Central Railway (SCR) has transported about 15.75 crore passengers in the zone from April to October, this year of which more than 90% of them travelled in sleeper and general coaches.

SCR ferries 15.75 cr passengers, incl. 14.32 cr in non-AC & 1.43 cr in AC. 664 trains/day operated; 10,748 trains/day nationwide. 38 cr passengers travelled in non-AC & 3.1 cr in AC in FY up to Oct. Special trains to run from Secunderabad, Kollam, Narsapur & Kottayam.

SCR will run Hyderabad-Patna Deepavali and Chhath special trains on November 13, 18 and 20. Jansadharan special trains (Secunderabad-Raxaul-Secunderabad) will also be run. Meanwhile, the 1,000th electric locomotive 'Sahasrav' was flagged off at ELS, Lallaguda, on Friday.

SCR commissions double line between Munumaka-Satulur (16.6 km) as part of Guntur-Guntakal doubling and electrification project. This line connects Guntur with Rayalaseema region and beyond. It will decongest the section, increase train speed and facilitate new train services.
