ORLANDO, Fla. — Humans haven’t traveled beyond low-Earth orbit in more than 50 years, but that’s set to change with the launch of the Artemis II mission to orbit the moon next year with four passengers on board. Just who will be flying was revealed today.

The group will fly on NASA's Orion spacecraft as part of the Artemis program, which aims to return astronauts to the moon for the first time 50 years and establish a long-term presence there.

They will be the first people to launch on a journey toward the Moon in decades.

NASA has named its first moon crew in over 50 years. The agency announced Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch of NASA and Canada's Jeremy Hansen as the Artemis 2 crew.

Artemis 2 is the second scheduled flight of the Artemis program and the first crewed Artemis mission that will send four astronauts around the moon.
