Continuing our festive top 50 drivers theme, we thought we'd weigh up the best female challengers from the 2023 season across the wider world of motorsport.

Following the success of F1 Academy in 2023, the series will return for a 21-race campaign across seven weekends this year. The all-female championship is directed by former Williams test driver Susie Wolff, who aims to help young women progress towards the higher levels of motorsport. 

Ahead of a critical step-up in profile in 2024, with support from all 10 F1 teams in backing a driver and branding cars, F1 Academy managing director Susie Wolff is crystal clear about one thing.

Formula 3 race winner Taylor Barnard, GB3 championship protagonists Callum Voisin and Joseph Loake, and Italian F4 points leader Arvid Lindblad will battle it out for prizes that include a test in Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One® Team machinery. None of the four have been finalists before.

The Award, which started in 1989, aims to find and assist the best junior British racing drivers. The prize for this year’s winner includes £200,000 and a Formula 1 test drive with the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team.

There are 20 drivers on the current Formula 1 grid, and some of them have been at the top of the sport for a very long time.
