LAHORE (PAKISTAN) - Supporters of former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan clashed repeatedly with police overnight as he remained holed up in his Lahore residence early Wednesday, defying attempts to arrest him.

Khan, who was ousted in a no-confidence vote in Parliament last April, was ordered to appear before a judge to answer charges of illegally selling state gifts and concealing his assets.

Khan tells Al Jazeera an arrest warrant is a politically motivated attempt to ‘remove him’ from upcoming elections.
