Police have been called in after contractors working for e-bike firm Lime went into a London council’s pound to snatch back dozens of cycles seized for blocking roads and pavements.

The company blamed stiff competition with competitor Lyft, which operates the city’s Divvy short-term bike rental service.

The San Francisco-based company attributes part of the boom to the equity discount offered on the South and West sides.
