Nearly 200 youngsters from Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar will take part in the week-long programme, aimed at giving them an opportunity to see and understand the development activities taking place in different parts of the country and come into the mainstream by becoming a part of the nation-building process.

“Altogether 8,674 bank accounts, allegedly linked to cybercriminals, have been frozen in Jharkhand on suspicion that these were being used for phishing activities,” a CID official said on January 16.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) that it can record his statement at his Secretariat on January 20 in connection with a money-laundering case linked to an alleged land scam.

The Jharkhand Cabinet approved guidelines to deal with notices to State officials by external probe agencies, making it mandatory for them to inform the Cabinet Secretariat and Vigilance Department through departmental heads about the communications, an official said.

The Janata Dal-United (JD-U), Bihar’s ruling party led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is foraying into neighbouring Jharkhand, where it lost ground after 2005.
