In a show of solidarity with protesting wrestlers, All India Mahila Samskruthik Sanghathan (AIMSS) held a State-level convention on Tuesday. The wrestlers have been protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against instances of alleged sexual assault by National Federation Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. 

Since April 23, India’s top wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and many others, along with farmers, have been demanding the arrest of MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh

The protesting wrestling are hoping that the khap mahapanchayat scheduled at Jantar Mantar on May 7 will be of huge success and will help in getting more support for them in their fight against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Women and men wrestlers — some Olympians, some medal winners, and many who are learning the ropes — stay put at Jantar Mantar, protesting against alleged sexual harassment by one of the most powerful politicians in the sport of wrestling

The protest is likely to intensify on Sunday with several khaps announcing they would gather at Jantar Mantar and hold a panchayat

The wrestlers have been sitting on a protest in Delhi since April 23, demanding arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for alleged sexual harassment of seven wrestlers including a minor

Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Thursday met wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar here, hours after a scuffle broke out at the spot between the grapplers and police leading to a couple of protesters getting injured.
