Google has upgraded its famous Circle to Search on Android with a new feature. It now allows you to translate text while scrolling. This feature eliminates the need to restart the process every time the screen changes.
Translation is already one of the most popular uses of Circle to Search, as it helps you get context from social posts in other languages or read menus while booking restaurants abroad. However, until now, the biggest drawback was that the process stopped whenever a user scrolled down or switched apps. As a result, the user had to restart translation every single time.
However, with this new feature, translation becomes continuous. Android users can long-press the home button or navigation bar to activate Circle to Search, tap the “Translate” icon, and select “scroll and translate.” From there, the feature keeps working in the background as you move through a page or even switch between apps.
The feature will start rolling out from this week with select Samsung Galaxy devices. And broader availability is expected in the coming weeks.
This update is the latest in a string of productivity-focused improvements from Google. As of last month, Google Docs added a “Listen to your documents” feature, powered by Gemini. It allows you to hear your files read aloud in natural-sounding voices. Readers can play back entire documents or use audio buttons embedded by authors, who can customize the button’s size, label, and colour. Apart from that, it also allows you to adjust playback speed and choose from different voices.
