You be the judge: take part in our live event

Do you have a quarrel that’s equal parts comic and exasperating? Tell us your story and you might be asked to present it live — and see how our panel of Guardian writers and event audience rule.

In our beloved You be the judge feature, we’ve long invited readers to submit their domestic disputes for public arbitration – from flatmate fridge wars to spats over laundry duty.

Now we’re taking it one step further: on Wednesday 26 November, during the event An evening of Guardian culture with Tim Dowling, Stuart Heritage and Meera Sodha, we want to bring one real domestic gripe onto the stage.

Do you have a quarrel that’s equal parts comic and exasperating? A disagreement that never seems to resolve itself (despite the hours you’ve spent re-arguing it)? Tell us your story and you might be invited to present it live — and see how our panel of Guardian writers and event audience rule.

To thank you for putting yourself forward, the selected complainant and defendant will each receive a £100 gift card for Trullo and a copy of Tim Siadatan’s new cookbook Padella — handpicked by Guardian head of food Tim Lusher.

When: 26 November 2025
Where: Kings Place, London N1
Deadline for entries: 10 November 2025
