A woman has died after being hit by a bus in front of a shopping centre on the New South Wales Central Coast.
NSW Police said emergency services were called to the Bay Village Shopping Centre at 9:30am today.
A group of young mechanics told the ABC they were working across the road when the incident happened.
They said they rushed over and went under the bus to try to save the woman, believed to be aged 46, but she died at the scene.
She is yet to be formally identified.
The 64-year-old driver of the bus and his passengers were uninjured.
Police say the driver returned a negative roadside breath test.
Police have established a crime scene and the northern entry to the shopping centre, on Bay Village Road and Community Road, is closed.
The centre's northern exit also remains closed.
