Will Dennis pens new Bournemouth deal amid Celtic & Rangers links

Kilmarnock goalkeeper Will Dennis has signed a new contract at parent club AFC Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old is enjoying a season-long loan at Rugby Park after joining from The Cherries in the summer.

The keeper's contract was due to expire at the end of the current campaign.

However, today, the Premier League outfit confirmed that Dennis has committed his future on the south coast until the summer of 2026.

His loan spell at Killie remains unaffected. He will stay at the club as Derek McInnes' No.1 until the end of the season before returning to the Vitality Stadium.

Dennis has impressed during his time playing in the Premiership, with his previous experience of first-team football coming at Slough Town, Wealdstone, Weymouth and Guernsey.

He's kept 11 clean sheets in 28 competitive matches so far this season. He's been part of the defensive unit which has helped Killie into fourth at the winter break. Chief executive Neill Blake told afcb.co.uk: “We’re pleased that Will has committed his future to the club, having made huge progress on his current loan spell. “Will is gaining excellent experience at Kilmarnock, playing regularly and competing for a European qualification spot, and he’s a talented young player who adds strength to our goalkeeping department.”

Last month, both Celtic and Rangers had been credited as holding an interest in the goalkeeper.

A report emerged stating the Glasgow giants were keeping tabs on Dennis due to his contractual situation, with a cross-border fee appealing to either club as they seek to bolster their back-up options to Joe Hart and Jack Butland respectively.

However, it's understood these reported links were purely speculation.
