Why Chessington World of Adventures has been forced to close – everything we know

  • Chessington World of Adventures has closed for the day during the summer holidays due to a local water outage .
  • Customers have been told they can return for free on “selected dates” within nine months under the Return Promise. Returning requires customers to pre-book a reservation ticket.
  • A statement from the park on its website read: “We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding .”
  • Thames Water reported a burst water main on Leatherhead Road which appeared to be behind the water outage, according to a statement issued on the water company’s website.
  • It comes as parts of England face ongoing drought conditions and hosepipe bans.
