Who is in the Netflix Pinocchio cast as trailer gives first look at new movie?

Netflix has announced it will be premiering a brand new Pinnochio film, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro.

The teaser video has been released and indicates that it will be premiering around the festive Christmas season, in December 2022.

The classic tale of Pinnochio follows a wooden boy, crafted by his maker, whose nose grows each time he tells a lie. Judging by the teaser, Guillermo del Toro will be taking a unique angle with this new animated film for telling the story of this beloved classic.

Who is in the Netflix Pinocchio cast?

The Netflix premiere of Pinocchio will have a host of British actors, including David Bradley (Harry Potter) as Geppetto, Greggory Mann (The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society) as Pinocchio, Tilda Swinton (Okja) as the fairy with turquoise hair, Ewan McGregor (Lipstick on Your Collar) as Sebastian J cricket and Cate Blanchett (Don’t Look Up) as la colombe.

Also starring in the film is Finn Wolfhard, Christoph Waltz, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman and John Turturro.

Is there a Netflix Pinocchio trailer?

An official trailer is yet to be released of Guillermo del Toro Pinnochio. However, there is a 41-second teaser that has been released of the film.

The clip teases the unique perspective of how Pinocchio’s story will be told in this animated film.

It starts with Sebastian J cricket, lighting a match in a dark room before he lights a candle, opens up a book and begins to speak.

In a posh British accent, the talking cricket, voiced by Ewan McGregor, shares that he wants to tell them a story.

He challenges them by saying that they may think they know the story of this classic, but they really don’t.

The cricket lets watchers know that he will be telling the story from his perspective, alluding to the fact that he has a more truthful account as he lived in the very heart of Pinocchio.

Although a short clip, this teaser is enough to build anticipation amongst fans of the Pinocchio story ahead of its release later this year.
