Where are the Normal People cast now as Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal thrive in new film roles

It's been two years since Normal People made its debut on BBC. The second Sally Rooney novel was a huge hit when the adaptation launched in 2020 with over 60 million streams.

Now Conversations with Friends, Sally's first Novel which was released in 2017, is getting ready to launch on BBC Three and Hulu. The second adaptation has a launch date of Sunday, May 15 with a star-studded cast list, including Alison Oliver, Sasha Lane, Joe Alwyn and Jemima Kirke.

But as fans prepare to tune in and follow another Sally Rooney adaptation, where are the cast of Normal People now? Here's everything you need to know.

Daisy Edgar-Jones

Daisy Edgar-Jones played Marianne (BBC)

Daisy Edgar-Jones played Marianne in Normal People. Daisy has been super busy since starring in the Sally Rooney adaptation.

Her first post-Normal People project was the film Fresh alongside Sebastian Stan. Daisy plays Noa in the thriller which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.

She is also set to appear as Kya in the film adaptation of Deliah Owens' New York Times bestseller, Where the Crawdads Sing, which launches in July. Daisy is also starring in Dustin Lance Black's true-crime miniseries Under the Banner of Heaven.

Paul Mescal

Paul Mescal played Connell in the series and has gone on to star in various other projects (Enda Bowe)

Paul Mescal joined Daisy onscreen as Connell in Normal People, for which the Irish star won a Bafta TV Award for leading actor. In 2020 Paul also starred in the four-part Channel 5 thriller The Deceived, playing the role of a volunteer firefighter called Sean.

The following year Paul made his film debut alongside Olivia Coleman in the psychological drama The Lost Daughter, which has received three Oscar nominations. The actor also has upcoming roles in the movies God's Creature, Carmen and Foe.

Sarah Greene

Sarah played Connell's mother Lorraine on Normal People and since the show has appeared in two popular series. Her roles have included Charmian Pepper on BBC'S Roadkill opposite Hugh Laurie and the late Helen McCrory. Sarah also joined the Gleesons in Channel 4 comedy Frank of Ireland.

Later this year the actress is set to appear in Sharon Horgan's dark comedy Bad Sisters which will stream on Apple TV+.

Fionn O'Shea

Fionn O'Shea played Marianne's boyfriend Jamie in Normal People. Since then, he's starred as Eddie in the 2020 film Dating Amber and had a role in the Tom Holland flick Cherry. Fionn also played Rufus in the psychological film Wolf, which was released at the end of 2021, and is currently filming the mini-series Masters of the Air.

Eliot Salt

Eliot also appeared as Joanna, Marianne's friend at Trinity College Dublin in Normal People. In 2021, Eliot starred as Terra in the hugely popular 2021 Netflix series Fate: The Winx Saga.

She was cast in Manor at the National Theatre.
