Davide Ancelotti could be set to help his dad get his feet under the table in Brazil before heading to Rangers.
Ancelotti Sr was yesterday confirmed as the next manager of the Brazilian national team and his first games in charge will be against Ecuador on June 6 and Paraguay on June 11 in a World Cup qualifying double header.
His right-hand man during spells at Bayern, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid has been son Davide, now strongly linked with becoming the next permanent Rangers manager.
Reports emerged from Spain yesterday claiming Ancelotti Jr was the man Ibrox chiefs had plumped for and that his appointment was imminent. However, sources have played that down and it's believed the 35-year-old is one option.
The sources close to the club also insisted they would make their appointment within the next four weeks.
And that ties in with journalist Jon Hernandez reporting that the Italian coach will join up with his father for those first two matches in South America before then heading to Glasgow to take up the post at Ibrox.

Davide Ancelotti 'set to join' Rangers as search for new boss nears conclusion
He adds that a deal between the two parties is "very close".
He said: "The breaking news in Spain is Davide Ancelotti is going to be the next manager of Rangers. At least, the first step of Carlo Ancelotti at Brazil will see Davide being with him, I'm talking about the two first games against Ecuador and Paraguay at the beginning of June.
"The idea, after that, is for him to be released and to start as the first team manager of Rangers. That possibility is very close."
It has been reported Ancelotti has picked another Real Madrid coach, Francesco Mauri, as his number two and will sign a three-year deal.
Gers sporting director Kevin Thelwell knows the coach from his time at Everton and he was also on the 49ers radar as they searched for a new Leed United boss.
