A THUNDERSTORM warning has been issued across parts of Scotland.
The Met Office has warned some Scots will face "heavy showers and thunderstorms" on Wednesday afternoon, with travel disruption expected.
The warning, in place across parts of the north east, is in place from 2pm on Wednesday until 9pm.
Heavy showers will move in slowly, bringing accumulations of 15-20mm in an hour in some places, with up to 30mm possible within a few hours.
The weather forecaster added that "lightning and hail" will be additional hazards.
The showers are expected to ease during the evening.
Road users have been urged to take care while travelling in thunderstorms, as driving conditions are likely to be affected by spray, standing water and hail.
There could also be a delay to public transport services.
Homes and businesses are at risk of flooding, while buildings could also be at risk of damage from lightning strikes.
The Met Office issued the weather warning at 10.19am on Wednesday for the following areas:

How to stay safe in a thunderstorm
People in the warning area have been urged to check if their location is at risk of flash flooding.
Those looking to travel by car or public transport should check road conditions and amend travel plans if necessary.
If you find yourself outside and hear thunder, you should find a safe enclosed shelter such as a car.
Do not shelter under or near trees, or other structures which may be struck by lightning.
If you are on an elevated area, you should move to lower ground.
