Melbourne Victory have romped back into form and to the top of the A-League Women table with a comfortable 3-0 win over lowly Perth Glory.
In the only game of the weekend, due to player unavailability for various clubs across the international window, Jeff Hopkins' charges were seeking a response to their 1-0 defeat to Wellington last week.
The game at the Home of the Matildas was delayed by 15 minutes due to lightning in the area but from the opening whistle, Victory were on top, ending up with 21 shots to six.
Victory (nine points, 3-0-2) lead Sydney FC (eight points), and Newcastle (seven points), who both have games in hand, at the top of the table.
Rhianna Pollicina rippled the side netting for the home side in the 14th minute and seven minutes later, Victory hit the lead.
Perth failed to fully clear a corner and Victory recycled the ball.
Zoe McMeeken squared a cross into the perfect spot for American recruit Kennedy White, who buried a first-time strike in the top corner for her fifth goal of the season.
"In the first half especially we were very clinical and just excited to get the ball in the back of the net and see other players do the same," White told Paramount Plus.
"I'm excited for the next few games and still super-hungry for more."
Perth had the chance to equalise in the 23rd minute but Rola Badawiya's strike hit the post then trickled to safety.
Victory doubled their lead in the 37th minute.
The lively Holly Furphy, who was in everything in the first half, muscled Tijan McKenna off the ball and squared it for Sofia Sakalis to slide in for the easiest of goals.
The game was put out of reach when Pollicina tried her luck from long range six minutes later and a cruel deflection turned it past Perth goalkeeper Alyssa Dall'Oste.
Perth closed the game down more in the second half but the damage was done.
"It's hard. We've got a few people out at the moment which is always hard. It creates a shift within the squad," Perth defender Julia Sardo told Paramount Plus.
"I don't think we played a terrible game, there was just a few mistakes. But hopefully we can bounce back."
Victory were less dominant in the second half but former Central Coast midfielder Taylor Ray made her club debut, after an injury-interrupted start to the season, while young striker Ella O'Grady flashed a late strike wide.
Next up, Victory host Canberra on Friday night while last-placed Perth have the bye.
