
The body of an unidentified woman has been found in the Yarra River near Warburton, some 75 kilometres east of Melbourne.
The gruesome discovery came after members of the public spotted the body in the river near the Alpine Hotel at around 11am on Monday morning.
Victoria Police and SES worked to retrieve the body from the water.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the body has not yet been identified.
“Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the death,” she said, per the Herald Sun.
The publication reported police remained on scene near Dammans Road and Warburton Highway on Monday afternoon.
