Vic looks at pandemic's mental health toll

Dr Neil Coventry will speak to the inquiry on the mental health impact of Victoria's lockdowns. (AAP)

Victoria's chief psychiatrist will be among those giving evidence at a parliamentary review of the state's pandemic orders.

Friday's hearing will look at how Victoria's COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions affected residents' mental health and wellbeing.

Chief Psychiatrist Dr Neil Coventry, Chief Mental Health Nurse Anna Love, and BeyondBlue chief executive Georgie Harmon will be speaking at the inquiry.

The Victorian government last month extended the state's pandemic declaration to July 12, which allows for the ongoing enforcement of COVID-19 measures.

But rules eased across the state last week, with most mask mandates scrapped, isolation requirements for symptom-free close contacts removed, and masks only needed in select settings.
