USA boss Gregg Berhalter makes decision on Leeds United duo for World Cup last-16 Netherlands tie

Leeds United's Tyler Adams has once again been named in the USA's starting line-up for their huge World Cup last-16 tie with Netherlands. Adams, who has enjoyed an extremely impressive tournament after being named captain of his country, starts in midfield alongside Yunus Musah and Weston McKennie for the fourth game in a row.

USA know that a defeat today would mark the end of their World Cup campaign in what is the first knockout match of the tournament so far. The winners of this tie will face either Argentina and Australia in the quarter-finals.

Fellow Whites team mate Brenden Aaronson will have to settle for a place on the bench for a fourth game in a row. Aaronson had been waiting in the wings in case star man Christian Pulisic missed out, but the Chelsea winger has been passed fit to start.

The 22-year-old has come on off the bench in each of the USA's three group games but has not done enough to be given a starting berth. Alongside Adams, the aforementioned Pulisic, Arsenal's Matt Turner, as well as Fulham duo Antonee Robinson and Tim Ream are the other Premier League players named in the USA starting XI.

On the opposing side, the US will have to keep close tabs on Netherlands attacker and former Leeds target Cody Gakpo. Gakpo has scored in all three games in the tournament so far and sits level alongside Kylian Mbappe, Marcus Rashford, Enner Valencia and Alvaro Morata in the race for the golden boot.

Netherlands XI: Noppert, Timber, Van Dijk, Ake, Dumfries, De Jong, Klassen, De Roon, Blind, Gakpo, Depay.

USA XI: Turner, Dest, Zimmerman, Ream, Robinson, Adams, Musah, McKennie, Weah, Pulisic, Ferreira.
