Urgent search for Scots boy, 12, missing overnight without medication found safe

An urgent search has been launched for a 12-year-old boy who vanished overnight without his medication, mobile phone or access to any money. Police Scotland say Dylan Reid was last seen at around 3pm in the Gorgie Park area of Edinburgh on Tuesday, September 20.

Despite extensive searches, officers have been unable to find the youngster with his family becoming “extremely concerned” for his safety. Dylan is described as being around 5ft 3in, of a slim build with short, black hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue/grey North Face tracksuit with a Nike waist bag with a reflector logo. Concerns are now growing for his welfare with memembers of the public urged to contact police if they've seen him.

Inspector James Sinclair said: “Dylan requires daily medication and doesn’t have any with him. We are increasingly concerned for his welfare and his family is understandably concerned and want him home safe and well.

“I would appeal to anyone who has seen Dylan or anyone who has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts to contact us. Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 4343 of Tuesday, 20 September, 2022.
