UNIQLO has announced the official opening date for their first-ever Glasgow store.
The popular Japanese-owned fashion retailer will open a two-storey unit on Argyle Street on October 2, following the success of its Edinburgh branch.
As well as offering a full range of its LifeWear for men, women, baby and children, the Glasgow site will also have a dedicated RE:UNIQLO section, where customers can upcycle and repair old items.
Alessandro Dudech, COO of Uniqlo UK, said: “Uniqlo is proud to continue investing in the UK retail landscape, further strengthening our presence in Scotland with the opening in Glasgow, on October 2, of our second location in Scotland.
“This location represents an exciting opportunity to engage more directly with local communities and welcome the many visitors to this vibrant city.
“We look forward to introducing even more customers to LifeWear everyday clothing designed with purpose, and guided by the Japanese values of quality, simplicity, and longevity.”
The Argyle Street store will be located next to the entrance of H&M in the St Enoch Centre.
The company, which emphasises a “commitment to providing high-quality, functional, and thoughtfully designed”, has said it will also continue its partnership with homelessness charity Social Bite.
Uniqlo has said the company will work with the charity to create in-store employment opportunities for those supported by Social Bite, with store staff also volunteering in the Social Bite Café.
To mark the Argyle Street offering, the first 100 customers to make £60 purchases on both the opening day and Saturday, October 4, will receive a free goody bag.
Those who use the Uniqlo app will also be entered into a prize draw to win a trip to Tokyo, Japan. Entries can be made by scanning the app at the checkout and the competition will run until November 30.
