Troye Sivan, Billie Eilish and more celebrities have shared their devastation over the Bondi terror attack.
A total of 16 people were killed, including the gunman, when two gunmen opened fire on a crowd celebrating the first day of Hanukkah in North Bondi.
The shooting was condemned by both the Jewish community and world leaders, with famous names now joining the chorus of those expressing their grief and horror.

Australian singer Sivan was among the first to respond earlier this morning, sharing an Instagram Story saying, “My heart is broken.”
“Thinking tonight of the victims and their families, the Bondi and wider Sydney communities, and for every Jewish person in this country. This is not who we are as Australians,” Sivan wrote.
Fellow Aussie pop star Kylie Minogue shared a similar sentiment on Instagram, posting a black screen with a broken heart emoji and the message, “my heart is with you Bondi”.

Australian actress Rebel Wilson also shared an Instagram Story this morning, describing the attack as “an absolute tragedy” and expressing solidarity with Australia’s Jewish community.
“We shouldn’t have gun violence in Australia, we shouldn’t have antisemitism,” Wilson wrote. “Thinking of everyone affected by this devastating violence.”
Rose Byrne, who grew up in Sydney, said the tragedy in “my hometown” left her feeling “horrified” for the victims and their families.
“Australia is one of the safest places in the world to practice any religion and I am shocked, heartbroken and horrified by this unspeakable news,” Byrne wrote on Instagram.

Elsewhere, influencer Abbie Chatfield said the attack rattled a community that has “already endured so much” following the stabbing incident in Bondi Junction last year.
“It truly changed the community and in many ways we are still recovering. This is another wound for the community,” Chatfield wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile overseas, multiple Hollywood names reacted to the attack, with pop star Billie Eilish saying the news is particularly “devastating” in light of another mass shooting that took place at Brown University in Rhode Island last week.
“This is so devastating. My heart goes out to all of the victims and their loved ones,” Eilish wrote.

Oprah, who was recently in Australia for a multi-city tour, said the news was “hard to reconcile” given the experience she had while visiting Sydney.
“I just spent the last two weeks in Australia, walking Bondi just days ago feeling the openness and ease that lives there. It’s hard to reconcile that sense of peace with the terror of last night,” Oprah wrote on Facebook.

These sentiments have been echoed by key figures in Australian and international politics since the terror attack.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the attack as “evil”, while US President Donald Trump described it as “horrible” and King Charles said he was “appalled and saddened”.
Closer to home, Alex Ryvchin of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry said the shooting has left the community “numbed”.
“I don’t think there’s words right now. At the moment, we’re broken. We have to grieve. We have to process this. This destroyed whole worlds and things will always be different for us. It has fundamentally changed this country,” Ryvchin said.
One gunman was shot and killed by police during the attack, while another alleged gunman remains in hospital under police guard.
The incident, which was officially declared a terrorist attack on Sunday night, marks Australia’s worst mass shooting in 29 years.
