Top international wrestling event coming to Lanarkshire ring

Some of the UK's finest grapplers will lock up with their Scandinavian counterparts when a top international wrestling event comes to a Lanarkshire ring next month.

The W3L Wrestling Showdown extravaganza at Larkhall leisure centre is a co-promotion between Britain's World Wide Wrestling League (W3L) and Denmark’s top squared-circle organisation, Copenhagen Championship Wrestling (CCW).

Among the much-anticipated showdowns on the April 15 card will be a feature contest between WWE Network star Krieger and super Swede Seb Silvers.

Champions will also be in action as W3L Heavyweight Champion Taylor Bryden teams with Rubi Roberts to take on Luke Aldridge and W3L Women's Champion Brodie Adler in a mixed tag-team showcase.

Other top stars set to display everything from headlocks to powerslams will include the Copenhagen Hangman and Edinburgh’s Showdown Champion The Original Craig Stephens.

A spokesperson for the upcoming show told Lanarkshire Live: "This exciting event is a co-promotion between World Wide Wrestling League and Denmark’s Copenhagen Championship Wrestling.

"Ever popular with kids and families, for 20 years W3L have been bringing the very best in professional wrestling from around the world to towns across the UK and our partnership with CCW means our Larkhall event will be an international spectacular.

"The World Wide Wrestling League hosts some of the biggest names in wrestling from the UK and abroad, including former WWE stars and top names from TV and major streaming platforms including the WWE Network.

"Copenhagen Championship Wrestling are known in Denmark as the country's wildest wrestling promotion.

"Their success, along with their Danish TV show CCW Grunge, has seen them expand through Denmark and now throughout Europe with a string of successful visits to the UK already under their belt."

Doors open for W3L Wrestling Showdown on April 15 at 2.30pm, with the first bell at 3pm.

Tickets, priced £16 for ringside front row, £14 for general admission, £12 for concession and £46 for a family fo four, are available now online or from Larkhall leisure centre.
