If you’re like me, you’ve got a color that you buy everything in if it’s available. For many people, this extends to cookware, especially if we’re talking about the high-end French brand Le Creuset. Known for its colorful enameled cast iron cookware, the brand inspires several customers to pick a signature color for all their cookware, creating a unified aesthetic for their kitchen.
Well, one TikToker thinks you should turn this practice on its head—if you’re bold enough, that is.
In a viral video, Ave (@ave.abe) says, “In terms of Le Creuset, the most chaotic neutral thing a person could do is instead of like arbitrarily picking a color for their Le Creuset collection, … before you own any Le Creuset products, going to the Factory Sale, getting a mystery box, and letting that determine your fate.”
Ave notes that people often put pressure on themselves to pick the perfect color, while she is someone who likes many of the colors and could never stick to just one. She questions if anyone has followed her “chaotic neutral” purchase advice before closing the video.

In the comments section, viewers compared Ave’s suggestion to a cookware version of the Sorting Hat from the “Harry Potter” series. Others shared their thoughts on matching versus mismatched Le Creuset cookware.
“The only acceptable outcome would be if the gods gave me a meringue mystery box,” one viewer said.
“Why are people with Le Creuset money limiting themselves to only one color?” a second questioned. “I would mix and match, so many beautiful colors.”
Another proponent of having a variety of colors said, “I just have my favorite color of each piece. I liked the red pie dish so got that. the green oil and vinegar things so got those. Blue kettle. Don’t fall for the propaganda that you must abide by a single color!”

According to Today, the Factory to Table Sale is one Le Creuset typically hosts every year in cities including Miami, Phoenix, Philadelphia, and Minneapolis.
During the sale, you can shop for items up to 60% off their normal retail price. The brand stocks a variety of products in several colors and restocks items throughout the event.
How can I get a Le Creuset mystery box?
At past Factory to Table Sales, customers have been able to purchase a mystery box of items worth up to $350 for $50.
Today states, “Mystery boxes are only available during VIP sessions. During the upcoming sale, the session will be held on the first day and will cost $25 for a ticket (normal tickets are $10). Mystery boxes are limited to one per ticketholder and you have to be present to purchase it, so unfortunately you can’t stock up or buy for others.”
While Today references an upcoming sale, the article is from June 27. On the Le Creuset Factory to Table website, it says the “upcoming” event was in Ohio from June 26 to 29. So, it looks like if you want to score a mystery box, you’ll have to wait until next year.
