The Grand Tour fans blast 'disastrous' new line-up of younger presenters including TikTok star

The Grand Tour will reportedly continue with a new line-up of “younger and cooler” presenters following the exit of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May.

Clarkson, 65, Hammond, 55, and May, 62, signed off from the Prime Video motoring series last year with an emotional finale following six series.

The original trio are believed to have been replaced by a fresh slew of faces, who critics have claimed will be “disastrous” together.

YouTubers Thomas Holland and James Engelsman will front the popular motoring show alongside TikTok star Francis Bourgeois, according to The Sun.

Holland and Engelsman host their own YouTube show Throttle House, which boasts 3 million subscribers and follows the duo as they test and review cars.

Bourgeois, 24, whose real name is Luke Magnus Nicolson, is best known for his eccentric trainspotting videos and has interviewed stars like the Prince and Princess of Wales, Louis Theroux, Craig David, Sheridan Smith and Tom Daley, since going viral in 2021.

“Thomas and James are as knowledgeable about motors as Jeremy, Richard and James — the only difference is they're younger, cooler and a lot more social media savvy,” an insider told The Sun.

“Francis became famous for his love of trainspotting and will be bringing his humour to the show."

The Standard has contacted Prime Video for comment.

Some of show’s dedicated fans were less than impressed with the new line-up, insisting the easy camaraderie of Top Gear alums Clarkson, Hammond and May was the reason they watched in the first place.

One wrote: “This will have the same fate as Top Gear. When will Studios realise Clarkson, Hammond and May are why we watched!!”

Another added: “The Grand Tour was created for Jeremy, Richard and James specifically.

“By all means have a new motoring show on your platform with these guys, nothing against them at all. But it would be better to just have it under a different name. “

A third posted: “This has to be a joke, right? I mean, I find Francis endearing but he's not a presenter. This is going to be an awkward disaster.”

Others seemed excited about the fresh faces, with one writing, “The most random casting ever but I'm actually so intrigued,” while another added: “I’m tuning in, love Francis.”

Clarkson, Hammond, and May found fame on BBC’s Top Gear before moving to Prime with The Grand Tour in 2016.

Despite earning rave reviews for six seasons, the motoring show ended last summer with its special final episode, One For The Road.

May later said it was time for a “new generation” to helm the show.

"We’d exhausted the subject, we are getting on a bit. I believe it’s time for a new generation to find a new take - I don’t know what it is,” he said on Sunday Brunch in February,

When asked by host Simon Rimmer if the decision felt right, he said: "Yes, I think so. You can’t overstay your welcome. You’re supposed to leave the audience wanting more. It’s the rule of show business."
