Supermarkets recall cereal, curries and other items with health warnings

Tesco, Iceland and other stores have pulled products from sale amid safety fears with cereal, protein bars and takeaway curries among the items you should not eat.

Anyone who has bought one of the items should return it to the store for a full refund or replacement.

Product recalls have been issued by the Food Standards Agency, which takes action when an item could prove a risk to consumers.

Problems can include anything from missing ingredients on packaging - a hazard to allergy sufferers - to the potential risk of food poisoning or contamination.

Here are some of the recent product recalls, reported by the Echo.

Tesco

Tesco is recalling its Free From Bran Flakes because some packs may contain a small amount of another cereal variant (chocolate pillows) that contain milk and hazelnut (nuts) which are not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to hazelnut (nuts).
