Strictly hit by major schedule change next week as Sunday results show is moved

Next week will see a major change up in Strictly Come Dancing schedule, with no results show on Sunday.

Due to the World Cup, the live quarter final will air on Friday at 8pm, with the results show then playing on Saturday, at the earlier time of 5.40pm.

The change up is due to the BBC airing the World Cup fixtures on Saturday evening.

Last night Coronation Street actor Will Mellor and his partner Nancy Xu topped the leader board with their Charleston, scoring 38 points.

Behind them were wildlife presenter Hamza Yassin and his partner Jowita Przystal, with 37 points.

Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu got 35 points, as did Fleur East and Vito Coppola.

Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez scored 29, while Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe were at the bottom, with 25 points.

Corrie star Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima were unable to perform last night, after Kym tested positive for Covid.

Body language expert Judi James told the Mirror that Will “shouted in frustration” after being “robbed” of getting awarded a top score by Anton Du Beke last night.

The pair received high praise from the judges, with Shirley Ballas saying: “Well, first of all Will, coming off Blackpool you never know really what to expect.

"Going out there today everything worked well for you. The choreography was brilliant and you didn't miss a lift. Well done.”

Anton Du Beke told the duo: “I think that was one of your best performances of the series. You commit to every move, you nail every move.”

Craig Revel Horwood said: “I thought your free arm could be a little bit more placed. The swivel was fantastic. Well done!”

And Motsi Mabuse said: “If we're setting the standard for tonight then we have a real big problem because that was fast, that was slick, the energy between you was amazing.”

But the frustration began to show when the couple were scored. They were awarded a huge 38 points out of a possible 40.

They received two marks of 10 from Shirley and Motsi, while both Craig and Anton awarded them scores of nine.

Our body language expert has dissected the moment Will and Nancy failed to reach the coveted full-house score and noted the actor’s “frustration” as he seemed to “expect” perfect 10s across the board.

Judi said: “Will showed some passion but not in his routine.

Will looked frustrated when he heard Anton's score, body language expert Judi James said (BBC)

"The man who always looks so thoughtful and in control finally lost it on the balcony when he found Anton didn’t give him the 10 score he was obviously expecting.

“Will did a double-up set of jumps in anticipation of success but when they got a 9 he shouted in what looked like frustration, waving and flicking his arm at Anton as though he thought they had been robbed.

“He quickly converted it all into a more humble ‘Thank you’ but it was good to see his openly competitive side let rip for a change.”
