Strictly final dances and songs confirmed as fans call for 'rule change'

Strictly Come Dancing viewers claim to have identified a 'key issue' with this year's final, taking exception to the fact that three of the dances for Saturday night are Couple's Choice routines.

After Will and Nancy's agonising exit in the Strictly semi final results show, just four couples are left in the race for this year's Glitterball trophy - bookies' favourites Hamza and Jowita, also hotly tipped Helen and Gorka, a delighted Molly and Carlos and Fleur and Vito, who beat Will and Nancy in the last dance-off of the series.

All four couples have scored numerous 10s over the course of the last month, but only Fleur and Vito have scored a perfect 40 of 40 heading into the Strictly final, with their full house of 10s coming for their Couple's Choice routine to a Destiny's Child megamix in Blackpool. They've picked that to reprise in the final and they aren't the only ones who are putting their faith in a Couple's Choice dance. Helen and Gorka will reprise their nearly perfect Mein Herr, which scored 39 in Musicals Week, while Hamza and Jowita will once dance to Jerusalema Remix by Master KG featuring Burna Boy and Nomcebo Zikode.

On seeing that the final will feature three Couple's Choices, some fans of the show reacted negatively on Twitter. One replied: "Don't think the couples choice dances should be allowed to be picked. That seems unfair as they always do well with having less rules!" Taking the same stance, another tweeted: "They shouldn’t be allowed choose their couples choices! That kinda defeats the purpose of the show dance!"

Calling for Strictly bosses to step in, a third replied: "I think the producers need to address the issue of Couple’s Choice. It always felt unfair even in its original incarnation,but with all rules dropped now,it’s become another showdance. Which means three of the four finalists are effectively performing two showdances in the final!"
