Steps heading to Manchester for huge Platt Fields festival show

Steps are to celebrate 25 years in pop with a headline festival show in Manchester this summer.

Claire, H , Faye, Lee and Lisa will be the main event at the new festival Bee U Fest, set to take place on June 18.

The UK’s most successful mixed-sex pop group of all time will be performing hits like Tragedy, Better Best Forgotten, and Stomp.

The festival is being staged by the RuPaul’s Drag Race affiliated Holy T, which is also behind the Fit For A Queen festival event in Sackville Gardens on June 4.

An afterparty event is also planned at Barpop and Churchills in the village.

After a three-year run of hits from 1997, the band split in 2001.

They then reformed in 2011, with a series Steps: Reunion being broadcast on Sky, with a sell-out UK tour following in 2012.

They reformed for a second time in 2017, to celebrate their 20 year anniversary, with a fifth album, Tears on the Dancefloor being released the same year.

Steps have scored 14 top five singles over their 25-year career, 21 million record sales and headlined seven sold-out UK arena tours.

Tickets for the event are set to go on sale from both the Bee U festival site, and the official Steps site at 7pm tonight.
