Sophie Turner confirms second pregnancy as she cradles baby bump at Met Gala

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are going to transform from a family of three to a family of four as the actress has confirmed she is pregnant again.

The 26-year-old British actress has been married to Jonas Brothers singer Joe, 32, since 2019 and together they welcomed a daughter named Willa in July 2020.

Now, following months of speculation, Sophie has confirmed another baby is on the way as she took to the Met Gala red carpet and cradled her blossoming baby bump while wearing a bejewelled Louis Vuitton gown.

Proud dad-to-be-again Joe shared a snap of the duo on the red carpet via his own Instagram page alongside a swirling star emoji – hinting the pair are over the moon to be growing their family again.

Sophie – who looked dramatically different with long, auburn hair – recently opened up about how motherhood has changed her outlook on life and her approach to work.

She told The Wrap: “The concept of family has made me an entirely much more emotional person. The empathy is heightened; the feelings about family are just like overflowing.

“It's made me a better actor for becoming, you know, becoming a mother.”

She also explained that she would be allowing her future performances to be influenced by her experiences as a mother.

She said: “As an actor, you know, the only way to become a really brilliant actor is to experience as much life as possible and to bring those experiences in, and so this is just another little part of life that I'm experiencing that I get to bring in and hopefully it helps my performance one way or another.”

The Met Gala has sparked a backlash with the 2022 event as the glitz and glamour of the attention seeking event took place at the same time American women learned their right to legally seek abortions is under threat.

Leaked details revealed the Supreme Court plans to overturn the ruling of the 1973 case Roe v Wade which made abortion legal in the USA – with fears now rife that women will lose the right and lives could be put at risk if the law is overturned.

Concerned Americans took to Twitter to highlight the absurdity of fashion and glamour being celebrated for no real reason at a time when women’s rights are under threat.

One tweeted: “The craziest thing about the MET Gala outfits is the fact that the Supreme Court is literally overturning Roe v Wade as we speak.”

And another woefully commented: “The Supreme Court overturning Roe V. Wade while the whole country is distracted by an inconsequential event celebrating extreme wealth is, unfortunately, the most symbolic representation of America rn.”

While senator Elizabeth Warren wrote: “An extremist Supreme Court is poised to overturn #RoeVWade and impose its far-right, unpopular views on the entire country. It's time for the millions who support the Constitution and abortion rights to stand up and make their voices heard. We're not going back—not ever.”
