PANAJI: Goa Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that some unsatisfied souls are trying to disturb the religious harmony and peace of the state and people should not allow such things.
"Since the last several decades, Hindus, Christians and Muslims have visited each other's places during festivals and we have to maintain it. Nobody should try to disturb religious harmony," Sawant said.
He said during Ganesh Chaturthi, all Christians visit Hindu households to take blessings and Hindus go to Christian households during Christmas.
"There are unsatisfied souls trying to disturb the peace and religious harmony in the state," the CM said.
He asked the people of the state to maintain religious harmony and prove that Goans are together for the development of the state.
Recently, Sawant had warned people, including religious heads and priests, against making statements that hurt sentiments of people from other religions. He was reacting to the viral video in which a priest was criticising the Hindu religion.
