Sean McVay shares injury updates on Puka Nacua, Rob Havenstein and others

Matthew Stafford wasn’t the only member of the Los Angeles Rams who suffered an injury in Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys. There are a handful of others dealing with ailments heading into Week 9, including Rob Havenstein, who missed the game with a calf injury.

Sean McVay provided updates on Puka Nacua, Cobie Durant, Ethan Evans and Havenstein on Monday afternoon, in addition to revealing that Stafford has a UCL sprain in his right thumb.

Nacua has some swelling in his knee so the Rams will be “smart” with him in practice this week. Durant left the game with a shoulder injury that turned out to be a stinger in his neck, so he’s likely to be limited Wednesday. McVay expects him to “be OK,” though.

Havenstein is still considered day-to-day and Evans sprained his ankle during one of the Cowboys’ punt returns so the Rams will monitor him during the week.

Lastly, Austin Trammell “should be OK” after injuring his hip during a return.

“So Cobie Durant got a stinger in his neck. He’ll probably be just limited when we return on Wednesday but he should be OK,” McVay said. “We’ll continue to monitor  Rob Havenstein’s calf. Obviously, he wasn’t able to go. He’ll be day-to-day for us. Austin Trammell got his hip on one of his punt returns but he should be OK. Puka had some knee swelling, but he is a competitor. The physical style of play that he has, we’ll probably be smart with him on Wednesday. Ethan Evans got an ankle sprain on one of their punt returns. We’ll see how he’s doing and everybody else is just kind of your typical bumps and bruises.”
